Living in Florida means that spending time in the water is crucial to surviving hot summers. Anywhere from beach days to water parks to swimming pools, we do it all! If you’re fortunate enough, you have a pool in your backyard and at your disposal. It’s especially helpful on those days after sunny yard work, cleaning out the garage or after you’ve spent any length of time outdoors. But with owning a pool comes maintenance and let’s face it…more sweat.
Here’s a few pool tips to be aware of:
Store chemicals out of sunlight.
Don’t store the acid and the chlorine right next to each other.
Check pool chemistry 1-2 times per week.
Regular baking soda does the same job as sodium bicarbonate.
Shock a cloudy pool.
Wipe clean the tile line weekly.
Check water line so it’s at the center line of skimmer or tile.
Clean out skimmer baskets weekly.
Keeping your pool swimmable doesn’t have to be a ton of work. Incorporate these tips into your cleaning routine and you’ll be sure to do more sunbathing than doing chores. Which is the goal, isn’t it?
